Not just because of the cricket but the fact that it was two weeks after 7/7 and London was a more tense place than usual. This was borne out by the way news filtered through of the attempted bombings on the Underground that day, which led to the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes the following morning.<br /><br />I remember getting back to my hotel after play and calling my Mum (always a terrible worrier) to reassure her that everything was okay.<br /><br />Really strange times.
